ACQUISITION SOURCING

Know who to call
before you call.

Search any territory on Google Maps, then let research read each company's website and tell you who owns it, how many people work there, and how many vans they run — with a link behind every answer.

A territory becomes a call list in three moves.

01

Find the market

Search Google Maps by zip code, radius and trade — or paste websites you already have. Duplicates merge into one list.

Location · website · phone · reviews

02

Keep the right ones

Filter on ratings and reviews, drop the closed ones, and shortlist the operators worth your time — before you spend anything on research.

Filtering costs nothing to run

03

Research the shortlist

Research reads each website and reports the owner, team size and fleet. Run as many as you like at once; the queue keeps going while you work.

A name you can check beats a name you can't.

Open the page a finding came from. See the photo the headcount was taken from, and whether it was a posed team shot or a job-site snap. Every company carries a confidence rating you can argue with.

  • Owner name and title, linked to the page that says so
  • Headcount from posed team photos, not job-site shots
  • Fleet size from vehicles visible in company photos
  • Everything exports to a spreadsheet, sources included

Your keys stay in this browser. Google gets its key directly; the Anthropic and OpenRouter keys go with the request that needs them and are never stored.

Getting an Anthropic API key

  1. Go to console.anthropic.com and sign in, or create an account. This is separate from a Claude.ai chat subscription.
  2. Add credits: Settings → Billing, then buy credits or add a payment method. Research won't run on an empty balance.
  3. Create the key: Settings → API keys → Create key. Give it a name you'll recognise, like "Vexis Sourcing".
  4. Copy it straight away. It starts with sk-ant-, and the console only shows it once.
  5. Paste it here.

"That API key was rejected": the key was copied wrong or deleted. "Credit balance": add credits under Settings → Billing.

Cost: roughly $0.10–0.30 per company.

Used to research companies.

Getting a Google Maps API key

  1. Go to console.cloud.google.com and sign in. Pick a project in the top bar, or create one. Do every step below in that same project.
  2. Turn on billing: Billing, then link an active billing account. Google requires one even for its free monthly usage.
  3. Enable the API: APIs & Services → Library, search Places API (New), click Enable. It must say "(New)".
  4. Create the key: APIs & Services → Credentials → Create credentials → API key. It starts with AIza.
  5. Wait about 5 minutes, then paste it here.
  6. Recommended once it works: edit the key. Under Application restrictions choose Websites and add . Under API restrictions choose Places API (New).

"Rejected" or "expired": the key was copied wrong, deleted, or is minutes old. "Does not have permission": billing or Places API (New) isn't on in the key's project.

Cost: about $0.035 per page of up to 20 results.

Used to find companies. Sent straight to Google, never to our server.

Used by Screen, and as a stand-in for research if Anthropic is down or you have no Anthropic key. About $0.000025 a screen. Get one at openrouter.ai/keys. Leave it empty and everything else still works.
